The Challenge
When Pintarnya reached out, they already had an impressive feature set, especially in the CV creation section. However, post-launch, they pinpointed areas for improvement, particularly in terms of CV completion, recognizing its pivotal role for job seekers.
Now, the challenge is on us: How can we make the CV completion process smoother, elevate profile completeness, and ensure each job seeker's profile stands out?

The Objective
Our team embraced the challenge, crafting an intuitive design-driven solution with the aim of refining the CV completion process. This enhancement not only boosts profile completeness but also ensures that job seekers' profiles stand out.
Smooth Onboarding
The onboarding feature, being the first point of interaction and an opportunity to educate new users, needs to be very slick. Pintarnya team was quite concerned about the analytical data from the Onboarding Process. Their analysis revealed several issues within the existing onboarding framework, contributing to a significant bounce rate.
It became clear that the goal is to enhance the onboarding process and prevent users from feeling overwhelmed, ultimately aiming to decrease the bounce rate and increase user engagement.
To reach this goal, we designed a simple onboarding process by minimizing repetitive form-filling tasks and introduced an option to skip the CV section, making the process less daunting for users.
We also incorporated a series of questions, the responses to which would generate personalized job recommendations. This will provide a pleasant experience for users when they have successfully entered the app.
We concluded the process with a brief loading screen transition, intending to convey a professional, tailored experience. This suggests that the Pintarnya app is actively preparing valuable data and job recommendations for each user.
Raising The CV Standard for Job-Seekers
A CV often serves as the initial point of contact between a recruiter and a job seeker, playing a crucial role in the initial assessment of a candidate's quality. With this in mind, our goal is to raise the minimum standard for submitted CVs, ensuring they more accurately and effectively represent the potential of each job seeker.
Therefore, we designed an onboarding flow that allows users to freely input personal information. To further ensure the quality of their CVs, we included a review step before submission to job openings. In this step, users enter a preview page where they can edit any section of their CV, allowing for thorough review and refinement.
Mandatory Information
After doing thorough research with both people who use our system and those who don't, we figured out the important info that should be in a CV.
As a result, we designed an error state that triggers if any required information is left blank, guiding users to create a more complete and effective CV.
Informative Feedback for Job Seekers
Pintarnya is committed to help Blue Collar Workers in landing their dream jobs.
In order to achieve that is by providing feedback to job seekers whose applications have been rejected. Currently, this feedback is sent directly to users' numbers via WhatsApp, serving two key purposes: 1) To prompt users to update their CVs, and 2) To guide them towards applying for jobs better suited to their profiles.
How can we ensure that when they receive the feedback, the users will act upon it?
To answer the question, we improved the feedback review process by designing two entry points within the Pintarnya app. These points lead to a dedicated page that houses feedback from rejected applications, chosen based on their contextual relevance.
Informative Feedback
The feedback is categorized into several sections, each featuring: 1) concise and informative copy; 2) a visual differentiator, such as a representative icon and a status tag; 3) an action to edit related information on the CV; and 4) an option to mute a specific category of feedback.
Through this approach, we aimed to encourage users to improve their CVs and apply to more suitable jobs. The objective was to make feedback more accessible, actionable, and personalized, thus enhancing the likelihood of users taking constructive action.
There Will Always Be Room for Improvement
In our collaborative journey with the Pintarnya team, involving multiple rounds of research and design iterations, we gleaned several key insights. One standout realization was Pintarnya's genuine concern for their primary user base - the Blue Collar Workers in urban areas.
This deep empathy forms the driving force behind their continuous commitment to product and service enhancement, a fact that resonated strongly with our shared mission to deliver user-centric solutions.
We hope to keep this inspiring passion alive within us as designers, continually fueling our drive to create impactful solutions. We look forward for future collaboration!
